A Permanent Resettlement Fund in the Liberated Territories will be established, APA reports.
This is reflected in the proposed amendments to the Housing Code discussed at today's session of the Milli Majlis (Parliament).
Under the draft law, residential premises within the Permanent Resettlement Fund in the Liberated Territories will be included among the types of housing classified as special-purpose housing stock. These residential units are intended for the relocation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to permanent residences in the liberated territories and for the subsequent transfer of ownership of those residences to them.
The procedure for relocating IDPs to residential premises within the Permanent Resettlement Fund and transferring ownership of those premises to them will be determined by the body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority.
It was noted that the amendments to the Housing Code will establish a new institution — the Permanent Resettlement Fund in the Liberated Territories. The residential premises included in this fund will be used for the resettlement of IDPs and the transfer of ownership of those properties to them.
The draft law was put to a vote and adopted in its first reading.
