An analysis of technical and commercial solutions is being carried out for the realization of increasing the transportation of Kazakh oil through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Pipeline, APA-Economics reports citing SOCAR.
"In the future, it is possible to increase the transit of Kazakh oil through BTC. As a preliminary agreement, the transit of 1.5 million tons of oil is planned, and in the future, it is planned to expand the cooperation and increase the volume of Kazakh oil to be transported. However, taking into account the current limits applied to Kazakhstan's oil volumes, an analysis of technical and commercial solutions is being carried out for its realization," said the source.
Transportation of Kazakh oil via BTC is carried out within the framework of the agreement between SOCAR and KazMunayGas which provides 1,5 billion tons of oil.
"Kazakh oil transported through BTC will not affect the quality of "Azeri Light" brand oil. Because the characteristics and quality of Kazakh oil are checked before it is transported, and the limits applied to the quality and volume of Kazakh oil transported via BTC do not allow the quality of Azeri Light oil to change," the source said.
