During January-June of 2023, Georgia imported 955 561,73 tons of gas worth 189,01 million US dollars from Azerabijan, according to Georgian National Statistics Office report, APA’s Georgian bureau reports.
It was noted that the volume of the gas imported from Azerbaijan decreased by 98,740.98 tons or 9.4% in annual terms, and its value decreased by 3.07 million dollars or 1.6%.
In the first half of the 2022, Georgia imported 1 054 302,71 tons of gas worth 192,08 million US dollars from Azerbaijan.
In the first half of the current year, Georgia imported 1 284 683,12 tons of gas worth 275,61 million dollars in total. Thus, Azerbaijan remained the main gas supplier of Georgia this year - 74.4%.
During the reporting period, Georgia imported 329 025,29 tons of gas worth 86,4 million dollars from Russia. This year, the neighbor country’s volume of the gas imported from Russia is 2,14 times higher in annual terms, while its value is 2.1 times higher.
