As a result of successful measures implemented in the Oil Rocks and "Palshig Pilpilesi" fields in recent months, daily oil production has now reached 3,300 tons, Ali Gurbanov, General Director of SOCAR's "Azneft" Production Association, said during his speech at the 30th Anniversary Baku Energy Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
"This is the highest indicator achieved in the last 34 years. Completing 2025 with this momentum and record results (more than 1.2 million tons of oil) is one of the main goals ahead," Ali Gurbanov noted.
According to him, great dynamics are observed today in the Bibiheybat field, which is about 180 years old and where the first oil was extracted by industrial methods in the world. In April of this year, daily oil production was increased to 400 tons with 503 operating wells. These figures are the highest production indicators in the last 30 years of the Oil and Gas Extraction Department's (OGED) activity.
Ali Gurbanov noted that the results achieved at the A.J. Amirov OGED are also among the successes of professional teamwork. Currently, the OGED's daily oil production is 270 tons, and it is targeted to increase this figure to 310 tons (35 percent) by the end of the year. This figure is the highest production in the last 30 years of the OGED's activity.
