The European Union (EU) purchased approximately 8.4 billion euros worth of natural gas from Russia in January-July 2025, an increase of 5.2% year-on-year, APA-Economics reports, citing data from the European Union's statistical office ("Eurostat").
According to the information, more than 3 billion euros of this amount was for gas transported by pipeline, and slightly more than 5 billion euros was for liquefied natural gas (LNG).
It should be noted that the "Turkish Stream" gas pipeline currently remains the only active route for transporting Russian pipeline gas to Europe.
