“The best conditions for the solar radiation in Azerbaijan are in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic,” Deputy Energy Minister Elnur Soltanov told journalists, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, despite the fact that the amount of water in the Araz river is satisfactory, two hydropower plants are currently being established in Nakhchivan.
Deputy Minister emphasized that in some years in Nakhchivan, the electricity received from renewable energy was more than the energy received from gas.
Elnur Soltanov noted that Nakhchivan has direct access to Türkiye, and there is no need for another state in the middle to transfer energy: “That’s why we expect that there will be proposals that contribute to the budget of Nakhchivan."
