At the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States held in Dushanbe, information was provided about the energy potential of Eastern Zangazur and Karabakh, APA reports.
Prime Minister Ali Asadov stated that speaking about large-scale successful projects implemented in the field of renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan, he noted that contracts signed for solar and wind power plants will provide an additional 6 gigawatts of energy to the country by 2030.
“At the same time, the hydro energy potential in the Eastern Zangazur and Karabakh regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan is being increased through the construction and commissioning of hydropower plants of various capacities financed by domestic investments. As a result of the work carried out, it is planned to double the energy production potential from renewable energy sources within the next five years,” the Prime Minister added.
