BTC transports over 546 mln tons of oil since commissioning

During the first quarter of 2023, about USD 59 million were spent on operational expenses for the Baku-Tbilisi Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline and USD 18 million was spent on capital expenses, APA-Economics reports.

From the commissioning of the 1768 km long BTC pipeline in June 2006 to the end of the second quarter of 2023, a total of more than 546 million tons (4,1 billion barrels) of crude oil was transported through this pipeline and was loaded onto 5,402 tankers in Ceyhan and sent to the world markets. BTC's achievement of a total of 4 billion barrels of oil exports was marked on January 18, 2023, as a significant achievement.

During the first quarter of the current year, approximately 15 million tons (about 114 million barrels) of crude oil and condensate exported through BTC were loaded onto 158 tankers at the Ceyhan terminal and set off.
