The Shah Deniz gas-condensate field serves a number of countries from Azerbaijan to the heart of Europe, Colin Allan, BP's vice president for finance for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye, said while speaking at the 30th Anniversary Baku Energy Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, the Shah Deniz field has proven itself as a reliable gas supplier, thereby significantly strengthening regional energy security.
Colin Alan also stressed that Shah Deniz is a truly reliable supplier: "Last year, the reliability level of production capacities exceeded 99%."
"This is an important indicator. At the same time, the field provides diversification of supplies in the markets served and, in some cases, takes a significant share. For example, supplies to Italy account for about 16% of its total gas market," Colin Alan emphasized.
