Azerbaijani oil to be stored in Czech Republic

Energy security is an integral part of national security for the Czech Republic, said Tomáš Pojar, the Czech Republic’s National Security Adviser, during his speech at the 30th Anniversary Baku Energy Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

“We are interested in strengthening cooperation in this area,” Tomáš Pojar noted.

According to him, traditional energy carriers will serve countries for many more years, but much work needs to be done in the field of renewable energy.

He added that the Czech Republic is the second-largest buyer of Azerbaijani oil: “Additionally, in two weeks, the storage of Azerbaijani oil in Czech reservoirs will be launched.”
