In January–April 2025, the total output of Azerbaijan’s mining sector amounted to 13,082.5 billion manats, down 2.7% compared to the same period last year, APA-Economics reports citing the State Statistics Committee’s monthly report.
Of this total, 12,020.2 billion manats came from crude oil and natural gas production—also a 2.7% decrease year-on-year.
According to the data, Azerbaijan produced 9,117.4 million tons of oil (down 5.4%) and 16,566.1 billion cubic meters of gas (down 0.6%) in the reporting period. Marketable oil output was 9,095.5 million tons, while marketable natural gas output reached 12,916 billion cubic meters.
The report notes that marketable oil production fell by 5.4% compared to the same period last year, while marketable gas production rose by 1.4%.
For reference, in 2024, Azerbaijan's mining sector generated 41,179.5 billion manats in output—1% more than in 2023. Of this, 38,009.6 billion manats came from oil and gas production, marking a 1.2% increase year-on-year. Last year, marketable oil output was 28,997 million tons (down 3.6%), and marketable gas output was 38,668.6 billion cubic meters (up 6.2%).
In total, Azerbaijan produced 29,063 million tons of oil (down 3.6%) and 50,596.7 billion cubic meters of gas (up 4.3%) in 2024.
