Last year, electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 28,657.5 million kWh, increasing by 0.9 percent, or 262.3 million kWh, the Ministry of Energy told APA-Economics.
During this period, electricity production was 24,823.4 million kWh at Thermal Power Plants, 2,842.5 million kWh at Hydroelectric Power Plants, and 991.6 million kWh from other sources, including 169.7 million kWh at wind power plants, 599.8 million kWh at solar power plants, and 222.1 million kWh at the Solid Municipal Waste Incineration Plant.
Compared to 2024, electricity production at wind and solar power plants increased by 162.3 million kWh, reaching 769.5 million kWh.
In 2025, electricity production amounted to 25,591.8 million kWh at “Azerenergy” JSC (22,703.6 million kWh at TPPs, 2,827.1 million kWh at SPPs, 61.1 million kWh at HPPs), 27 million kWh at wind power plants under “Azerishig” JSC, and 3,038.7 million kWh at independent power plants.
During the reporting period, electricity exports amounted to 1,147.3 million kWh, while imports were 177.2 million kWh.
