Azerbaijan earns over $700 million from fruit and vegetable exports

In 2024, Azerbaijan exported 686,254 tons of fruits and vegetables worth USD 707 million 795 thousand, according to APA-Economics' calculations based on the State Customs Committee.

The value of fruits and vegetables exported from the country decreased by 2.5% or $18.1 million, and the volume decreased by 5% or 35.8 thousand tons compared to the previous year. In 2023, Azerbaijan exported USD 725,902,000 worth of 722,78 tons of fruits and vegetables.

Note that, the main fruit and vegetable exports during the reporting period included tomatoes (145.6 thousand tons, valued at USD 175.4 million ), forest hazelnuts (20.2 thousand tons, valued at USD 128.9 million ), dates (154.3 thousand tons, valued at USD 113.7 million ), apples (97.8 thousand tons, valued at USD 61.9 million ), pomegranates (33.9 thousand tons, valued at 29.8 million USD), and potatoes (48.2 thousand tons, valued at USD 20.5 million ).

Recall that last year fruits and vegetables accounted for 2.67% of total exports and 21.09% of non-oil product exports.
