Azerbaijan generated 8,789.8 million kWh of electricity in January–April 2025, marking a 1.6% increase compared to the same period last year, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistics Committee.
Of the total electricity generated, 8,485.4 million kWh was commercial output, reflecting a 1.5% rise year-on-year.
Thermal power plants accounted for the largest share — 7,287 million kWh — though this figure represents a 2.1% decrease compared to the same period in 2024.
The remaining electricity was produced by hydropower plants and other alternative and renewable energy sources.
