SOCAR will soon introduce U.S.-made digital downhole device

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. SOCARâ€™s Geophysics and Geology Office will introduce into production the digital downhole device it purchased from the U.S. firm Tucker after testing.
SOCAR said the new device will greatly save time with integrated drilling activities during drop/rise operations.
A station purchased for geological and technological research would set collecting and petrophysical parameters of rocks (the distance, petroleum, throughput, etc.).
The station is being tested and will be introduced into production in a few days.
During 2006-2007, SOCAR purchased and implemented 122 digital modular downhole devices, 5 KamAZ elevators, 3 Rubin gas log unit, 3 Leuza - 2 gas log station to oversee the process of drilling, 1 gyroscopic inclinometer, 10 GPRS systems for communication and other sets of equipment.
