Armenia to launch power supply to Turkey in March

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-Economics. Armenia will start supplying electricity to Turkey from March, 2009, Arka quoted Armenian Energy Minister Armen Movsisian as saying.
The supply deal was signed between Armenia’s state-owned High Voltage Electricity Network company and a privately owned Turkish firm called UNIT, Movsisian said.
Under the agreement, it would take six months to create necessary infrastructure.
Armenia would initially supply 1.5 billion kilowatts per hour of electricity to Turkey and the amount would eventually increase to 3.5 billion kilowatts per hour.
