Baku-APA. Lebanese caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel said Wednesday his country and its security agencies are keen to avoid attacks against foreign embassies in Lebanon, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
"We will study the security of embassies with the concerned authorities in order to take the appropriate measures," Charbel told a press conference here.
The U.S. embassy in Beirut said Friday its non-essential staff and family members were being evacuated from Lebanon because of " threats to U.S. mission facilities and personnel."
However, the Lebanese authorities said they had boosted security measures at foreign diplomatic missions ahead of any possible foreign military actions against neighboring Syria.
