CEC starts specialized courses on election law for chairpersons of Constituency Election Commissions

Delivering a speech at the opening ceremony, Mazahir Panahov spoke about the importance of the event and said that this event was organized to train members of lower electoral commissions under “National program for action to raise effectiveness of the protection of human rights and freedoms in the Republic of Azerbaijan” approved by the order of Azerbaijan President dated December 27, 2011.

Chief of the Department on work with the local executive authorities of Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Zeynal Naghdaliyev, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev, first Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafat Asgarov and head of OSCE Office in Baku Koray Targay attended the opening ceremony.

Following the ceremony, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev will deliver a report on “Constitutional principles of electoral law and legislative mechanisms for its implementation” and first Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafat Asgarov on “The legal basis for the participation of political parties and blocs of political parties in elections (referendum)”. Following this, they will answer the questions of the participants.
