According to the Budget Guide of Citizen developed by the Ministry of Finance, AZN 2.5 million has been allocated from the state budget to political parties with the view of implementing the law “On political parties”, APA reports.
According to the “Law on political parties” of Azerbaijan, 10 percent of the funds allocated from the state budget to finance the political parties, will be proportionally distributed among the political parties, whose candidates gained at least 3 percent of votes during the parliamentary elections, but didn’t win parliamentary seats. 40 percent of the allocated financial resources will be equally distributed among the political parties represented in the parliament, 50 percent will be proportionally distributed according to the number of the elected deputies.
During the budget discussions at the parliament on November 28, 2014, Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov said 10 percent (AZN 250,000) of the funds allocated to political parties in 2014 was saved, and this amount will be fully distributed among political parties in 2015. The relevant bill should be developed and submitted to the parliament.
