Ali Ahmadov: â€˜The National Council was used and thrown awayâ€™

He noted that the opposition has completely lost self-confidence, Azerbaijani voters don’t support them: ‘As to Rustam Ibrahimbeyov’s nomination, he wil never be a real candidate. The recent processes show that neither his political inexperience nor age, or irresponsibility allow this. I do not want to explain the problems of the legal side of his candidacy, as it has repeatedly been said and publicly known. But nomination of such a person with legal problems is a big irresponsibility. It shows that in general, Rustam Ibrahimbeyov is unaware of the policy: he is unaware of the elections, the presidential post and so on. If the opposition explains their deceit by Ibrahimbeyov differently, it shows once again that they can not find a normal candidate. They know that the Azerbaijani society will not support their candidate’.

Ahmadov also touched upon the views that the National Council is Russia’s project: ‘Of course, the National Council was a tool in someone hands. But, you know, the use of artificial means is temporary. The National Council was also used and thrown away’.
