Azerbaijan’s Parliament hears annual report of the Justice Ministry Municipal Work Center

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev–APA. Azerbaijani Parliament adopted the annual report of the Justice Ministry’s Municipal Work Center on Tuesday. Deputy Justice Minister Vilayat Zahirov submitted the report, APA reports. The deputy minister said 1615 appeals were received by the Municipal Work Center last year. 15 000 acts drawn up by the municipalities were sent to the ministry for reviewing. The ministry recommended amending 635 acts. Zahirov said 143 cases were sent to the courts and criminal cases were launched against 15 municipalities. The deputy minister said violation of auctions and tenders also took place last year.

Then lawmakers expressed their opinions on the report. Chairman of the Parliament’s Standing Commission for Regional Issues Arif Rahimzadeh said the Justice Ministry should provide the municipalities with legal assistance. Member of the Parliament Panah Huseyn said there were issues in the report not related to the municipalities, and the document was full with praising. The lawmaker proposed to establish the city municipality in Baku.
Member of the Parliament Azay Guliyev highly appreciated the report and said the Justice Ministry provided the municipalities with legal assistance. He proposed to unite the small municipalities and to establish the web-site of the municipalities.
Lawmaker Mubariz Gurbanli also supported his proposal.

The report was approved after the discussions.
Draft law on the “Combating the money laundering and funding terrorism” was also approved in the third reading.
