Initiative Group for Karabakh and Republic appeals to Central Election Commission

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. Initiative Group for Karabakh and Republic appealed to Central Election Commission (CEC). Press service of Azerbaijan Democratic Party, which is the member of the group, told APA that the appeal says the persons collecting signatures underwent pressures by local law-enforcement bodies and executive bodies. The authors of the appeal named concrete facts in Hajigabul, Mingachevir, Sabirabad, Neftchala and Zerdab regions and underlined that it contradicted the Electoral Code.

Taking into account articles 112.1 and 112.4 of the Electoral Code, the oppositionists asked the CEC to eliminate violation of voting rights, create equal conditions for all the sides, prevent the government agencies from interfering in the signature collection campaign, threatening and blackmailing the voters.

The appeal also demands to examine illegal actions of the persons interfering in the signature collection campaign, hold them accountable in accordance with the related articles of the Criminal Code.
