Seminar on the role of executive powers during elections held in Baku - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

The seminar of session character will provide information to representatives of executive powers and Constituency Election Commissions about annexes and amendments made to the Electoral Code, articles envisaging interference in electoral processes within the framework of legislation. Jose Luis Herrero, Head of OSCE Office in Baku addressing the event estimated executive powers as one of the important elements of electoral process.
“We aim to hold democratic elections at high level and create condition for it. Experience of the parliamentary elections in 2005 should be taken into account during the presidential elections and problems, which we faced, should be prevented. Elections should be transparent and freedom of assembly should be ensured”, he said.
Ali Hasanov, Head of Socio-Political Department of the Presidential Office addressing the event stressed that every condition would be created to conduct democratic elections in the country.
“We aim to establish equal condition for presidential candidates, transparence on voting process, and prevent interference in electoral process”, he said. CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov stressed that they were ready to conduct elections.
“We have taken all measures to make election institutions to be ready for elections. We understand our responsibility and importance of presidential elections”, he said. The seminar will last two days. Analogical seminar will be held in Ganja on July 11, in Shirvan on July 14.
