He said local executive authorities should assist the election institutions to organize the elections and create opportunities for the electors to vote without obstacles and should give a necessary technical assistance for the regulation of functions of the election institutions. “International organizations also demand the election institutions and local authorities not to exceed their duties and especially not to use the administrative resources in favor of any candidates. We hold seminars on these issues that not to face such critiques. During last elections President Ilham Aliyev issued an order prevented the central and local executive structures from the interference into the elections. According to this order, officials of the executive power, who assumed such cases, were punished and removed from the office. I think this factor should be a serious signal for the executive authorities”. Ali Hasanov expressed opinion on the boycott decision of some political parties. “I think a boycott statement by some political parties has no serious political weight. Most of the main political parties of the country confirmed their participation in the elections. I believe at least 7-8 candidates will run for the presidency. Calls for boycotting the elections are unserious and have no power to impact on the political life”.
