Azerbaijan Popular Front Party decides to participate in local elections

Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. Azerbaijan Popular Front Party will participate in the local elections at the end of this year. Deputy chairman of the party Hasan Karimov told APA that the decision was made at the meeting of the party’s Presidium. He said there was no need to discuss the issue at the meeting of the Supreme Assembly, as it was in the competence of the Presidium to pass such a decision.
Karimov said they had given instructions to the party’s regional organizations to prepare for the elections and zonal meetings would be held soon.
Deputy chairman also said that Campaign Groups “For Karabakh and Republic†and “Republicans†were going to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights in connection with March 18 referendum. The appeal will be filed to the European Court after the decision of the Supreme Court is presented to the campaign groups. The appeal will demand to cancel the results of the referendum.
