Azerbaijan and Ukraine sign a plan of measures on cooperation in 2009-2010

APA reports quoting the Ukrainian Presidentâ€™s official website that the measures on development of economic-trade cooperation, bilateral cooperation perspectives in fuel and energy fields and further enhancement of energy security were discussed at the meeting. The sides also focused the development of military-technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Delivering a speech at the meeting, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko highly assessed the bilateral relations. Expressing his satisfaction with elaboration of a plan on further expansion of cooperation, Yushchenko noted that the Road Map for Ukraine-Azerbaijan cooperation in 2009-2010 would give an impetus for the development of relations within this period. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that the Ukrainian Presidentâ€™s visit would positively impact on further development of bilateral ties. According to him, the cooperation between the two countries is dynamically developing and this process will continue henceforth.

After the meeting, signing ceremony of intergovernmental agreements in various fields took place. Plan of measures on Ukraine-Azerbaijan cooperation in 2009-2010, protocol of the first meeting of the Council of Ukrainian and Azerbaijani presidents, protocol on the amendments to the intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation signed on March 24, 1997, interregional agreement on cooperation in economic-trade, scientific-technical and cultural fields between Volinsk Province and Ganja City, document on interregional cooperation and plan of consultations between Foreign Ministries for 2009-2010, agreement between Azerbaijanâ€™s Ministry of National Security and Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service, framework agreement on cooperation between the Government of Azerbaijan and Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers in the field of peaceful exploration and use of space were signed at the ceremony.
