Alla Pugacheva: “I have always admired the hospitality and sincerity of Azerbaijani people†- INTERVIEW - PHOTO
-What do you feel during your visit to Baku this time?
-During the Soviet times, my youth was connected with this city and this connection still continues. I often visited Baku. Of course, not all my visits were connected with concerts, I came to see my friends. I always admired this hospitable city, sincere people. I have always said Baku is an international city. I am glad that years have passed, but my feelings have not changed.
-You have gone sightseeing today. Have you seen the reconstruction in Baku?
-Is it possible not to see it? I admired the construction in the city. I am grateful to your President for this, respect him and welcome this work. I last visited Baku four years ago and then I felt that reconstruction will begin in this city. But I did not believe that so many changes will be made within five years. This construction works should be appreciated. The love of people is the best mark both for President and for a singer. I am glad for your people, you serve as an example, your youth is very active.
- This is your last concert in Baku. What do you expect from Baku audience?
-I am sensible of responsibility before the concert and I am afraid that I can’t justify the audience’s hopes. I presented the program, which I will perform today, at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow before. I didn’t change anything in the program. There will not be an improvisation. I have same songs, but I perform it differently. I wouldn’t like to repeat the songs. It will be min-spectacle. We will see will I remain an actress till the end of concert or show myself as a woman. I ask the viewers to keep every song in memory. It is my last performance in Baku, but not last visit. If you host me as a guest I will visit your city with great pleasure.
- What is the most memorable concert you have performed in Baku?
- The concerts attended by Heydar Aliyev. The concerts attended by him are the most memorable. He came to my concerts even he was ill. His presence encouraged me and despite the protocol I approached him and started to dance with him. I like him because he was great person…
