The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) revealed on Wednesday that its forces destroyed an Iran-affiliated vessel conducting surveillance and attacking US Navy ships in the Gulf of Oman last week, APA reports.
The military said the crew was removed from the targeted vessel before the action, adding that repatriation efforts are underway.
"Over the past seven months, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has continued to indiscriminately target thousands of civilian mariners transiting regional waters in addition to U.S. Navy warships," CENTCOM said.
