There is a good foundation for the implementation of green technologies in Azerbaijan, Jens Nielsen, director of the World Climate Forum and participant of the II Baku Climate Action Week, said in an interview with APA.
Nielsen, noting that there is a favorable environment for the development of the green economy in Azerbaijan, emphasized solar and wind energy among the alternative energy sources that will contribute to the growth of this sector.
The climate expert emphasized that Azerbaijan has rich experience in the agricultural sector and noted that this field could become the locomotive of the local green economy.
He stated that the development of these sectors will ultimately lead to the creation of many jobs.
"Climate change is not only a major challenge in terms of jobs but also an opportunity. Currently, more than one million people work in the green economy in Brazil," he said.
