“We are facing problems such as the declining level of the Caspian Sea,” Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Inger Andersen said at an international event dedicated to World Environment Day (WED) hosted by Azerbaijan, APA reports.
She stated that the planet is sending signals: “We can slow the pace of climate change. Climate action is an opportunity for nations and peoples. If we act now, we can create better healthcare and investments by 2050. The solutions are real, not only on paper. Green energy is expanding rapidly. The use of renewable energy is increasing further. We must use electricity efficiently and reduce emissions.”
