The summer season entered Azerbaijan on June 21 at 12:24:26 p.m. Baku time.
According to the Department of Astrophysics of the Faculty of Physics at Baku State University, summer begins in the Northern Hemisphere and winter begins in the Southern Hemisphere from this moment.
During this event, the smallest angle is formed between the Earth's axis of rotation and the direction of the Sun. As a result, the Sun reaches its highest point in the sky for the year.
In Baku, the Sun reaches its maximum altitude above the horizon today at noon (73.1°).
Today is the day with the longest daylight and the shortest night of the year. The length of daylight is 15 hours, 3 minutes and 24 seconds, while the length of the night is 8 hours, 56 minutes and 36 seconds.
The summer season will last 93 days, 15 hours, 40 minutes and 42 seconds.
