“We aim to turn COP31 from discussion into action,” Türkiye’s Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and designated President of COP31, Murat Kurum, said during the panel discussion titled “Beyond Negotiations: The Struggle to Keep COP Alive” held within the framework of the XIII Baku Global Forum, APA reports.
“We will strengthen the decisions adopted at all previous COP conferences and aim to ensure their implementation in practice. In particular, since Türkiye is surrounded by seas on three sides, we will draw the attention of the whole world to seas and lakes and the protection of their cleanliness during this conference,” Murat Kurum said.
Kurum also emphasized that efforts will be made to raise public awareness about combating climate change and achieving the set targets.
