“Azerbaijan is a country with rich biodiversity," Azerbaijan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Rashad Ismayilov said at an international event dedicated to World Environment Day (WED), hosted by Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The minister stated that protected areas in Azerbaijan have been expanded by more than 10% in recent years: “Today, we are solemnly celebrating World Environment Day. One of the main problems is the declining water level of the Caspian Sea, the pearl of our region. We continue our efforts to bring this issue to the global agenda.”
