An environmental action plan for 2026-2030 is being prepared in Azerbaijan, said Umayra Taghiyeva, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, during her speech at an event held within the framework of the “Baku Climate Action Week,” APA reports.
“Targets for improving the environmental situation for 2022-2026 have been set, and the implementation of the related program has yielded approximately 70% positive results. Now we are preparing an action plan for 2026-2030. This includes increasing greenery, forest management, protecting the Caspian Sea coast, proper waste management, expanding the hydrometeorological monitoring service, and more,” Umayra Taghiyeva said.
The Deputy Minister announced that a system is being planned to register all greenhouse gas emissions in the country and to ensure the monitoring of emission quantities.
Umayra Taghiyeva also added that turning Karabakh into a "zero-emission zone" is being targeted.
