A significant progress has been made towards increasing climate finance to USD 300 billion within the framework of COP29 held in Baku, which is a major achievement, said Jin Badershneider, former vice president of Exxon Mobile and a member of the Board of Directors of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, at a press conference dedicated to the Baku Global Forum, APA reports.
He announced that the Baku-Belen roadmap would be one of the discussion topics of the Global Forum: "This issue is very important. Because within the framework of COP29 held in Baku, that roadmap was widely discussed. The volume of climate finance was supposed to be USD 1.3 trillion. At least, everyone thought so. The situation reached a point where the parties agreed on a joint action plan on this matter. This is the most perfect plan for climate finance. The year 2025 is very important. If the volume of finance is agreed this year, the figure will reach USD 3 trillion. The main issue now is the realization of this target."
