"We must accelerate the ongoing reforms in climate funds," Rachel Kyte, the UK's Special Representative on Climate, said during a press conference at COP29, APA reports.
She emphasized the critical importance of reaching an agreement on all the provisions of the Paris Agreement at COP29: "As the United Kingdom, we are ready to assist all countries and work to support the leadership on the New Collective Quantified Goal. We believe there is an agreement here, and we need this agreement. We need the New Collective Quantitative Goal. This new goal should be broader, ambitious, and achievable while maintaining the capacity to leverage larger financial opportunities. We must accelerate the ongoing reforms in international financial institutions and multilateral climate funds."
