"I thank the President of COP29, Mukhtar Babayev, for ensuring the high-level organization of the event," said the former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in his video address to the participants of the XII Global Baku Forum, APA reports.
He recalled that during COP26, 90% of participating countries committed to reducing harmful emissions into the atmosphere: "During COP29 held in Baku, several Azerbaijani companies were part of the discussions. This is a significant achievement,"
He mentioned that he himself supports initiatives related to the creation of new alternative energy sources: "Finding new energy sources will protect us from the instability of oil and oil product prices and ensure the safety of the planet. The company I work for focuses on reducing emissions into the atmosphere. Our main goal is to ensure that both countries and governments benefit from the measures being implemented in this area."
