Russia's intensifying attacks on shipping in the Black Sea pose a threat to regional and global food security, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said in a post on X following discussions with Romania's new Foreign Minister Dan Neculaescu, APA reports.
"Russia’s intensifying attacks on Black Sea shipping are a threat to regional and global food security," she wrote.
Kallas said she discussed the issue with her Romanian counterpart, along with NATO's strengthened regional posture and the urgent need to make the Black Sea Maritime Security Hub operational.
She also emphasized the vital role of the Solidarity Lanes in bringing Ukrainian grain to global markets.
"I look forward to working together to support Ukraine and Moldova and make Europe stronger," Kallas added.
