In particular, Mr. Rybakov mentioned that co-operation with the American side will continue, and upon his return to New York next week, a meeting is planned with the American delegation [that had previously visited Minsk for talks], “During the last meeting with the American delegation a month ago, the President set tasks and highlighted issues that the American side needed to resolve for us to maintain effective and normal co-operation, the Minsk Times reports.
All the raised issues are currently being addressed.”
At the same time, Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the UN stated, “So far, only one matter has been completely settled — the personal sanctions against the Head of Belaruskali have been removed. Other issues remain under consideration. This process might take some time due to the complexity of the matters, especially those related to banking activities. Nevertheless, they will be resolved. I hope that positive results will not take too long to appear.”
Mr. Rybakov also added that ‘new opportunities are opening up for co-operation with the American side, including in view of the recent decisions by the US President regarding engagement with other countries’.
