"This week, Ambassador Marianne de Jong paid a courtesy visit to Mukhtar Babayev, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Climate Issues, during which key areas of current and future Netherlands–Azerbaijan cooperation were discussed," Embassy of the Netherlands in Azerbaijan posted on Facebook, APA reports.
"The meeting addressed the outcomes of COP29 and the potential for collaboration building on these results. They also discussed cooperation with Dutch companies in the areas such as water management, challenges related to the Caspian Sea level, and the rehabilitation and cleaning of Absheron’s lakes, including solid waste management initiatives.
The parties also exchanged views on partnership opportunities with Dutch public and private sector stakeholders in the context of the World Urban Forum, reaffirming a shared commitment to sustainable urban development and climate resilience," the Embassy stated.
