Azerbaijani territories were subjected to ecological terror during the occupation. Natural monuments and part of the forest areas were destroyed by Armenians, said Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Vugar Karimov while speaking at a meeting of the Working Group on Ecological Issues of the Interdepartmental Center in Khankandi, APA's Karabakh bureau reports.
According to him, during the monitoring conducted after the occupation, it was determined that 260 thousand hectares of forest area were destroyed during the occupation period.
According to him, restoration work was carried out on 54 thousand hectares of land after the occupation, and 300 hectares of land were restored in 2024. Currently, restoration work is underway on 200 hectares of land.
