Georgian army takes control of 11 villages and uplands in the outskirts of Tskhinvali

The government forces have also taken the control of the uplands in the outskirts of the city.
Eduard Kokoity, leader of the separatists and Teimuraz Mamsurov, the head of the Russia’s North Ossetian Republic said the situation in Tskhinvali was completely under their control and the fighting was in the outskirts of the city.
Prime Minister of Georgia Vladimir Gurgenidze called the people to be calm.
“Today is an ordinary working day in the country. We are working as usual,” he said.
The Prime Minister said their aim was to restore the stability in the conflict zone.
“We will not stop unless we reach our goal,” he said.
Vladimir Gurgenidze reiterated that they were ready to give autonomy to South Ossetia. The minister noted that they would allocate 50,000 laris (over $35mln.) to offer humanitarian assistance to the people of South Ossetia.

Meanwhile, Georgia’s Interior Ministry stated that Russian military aircrafts violated the country’s airspace. According to the Interior Ministry, three military aircrafts crossed Georgian territory, one of them bombed the police office in Kareli. No casualties are reported.
