APA’s Georgia reports that the court granted the petition of General Prosecutor’s Office and canceled its previous order. The National Communications Commission restored Imedi’s broadcasting license on December 5. The TV channel correspondents assembled in front of the office waiting for the court’s decision. They were allowed to enter the office after the decision was passed.
Imedi’s broadcasting was suspended on November 7, when police dispersed the opposition protests. The company’s equipment and license was frozen by the court’s decision.
On December 3 speaker and acting president Nino Burjanadze appealed to General Prosecutor’s Office asking to cancel the decision and provide conditions for the channel’s broadcasting. /APA/
