Two Militant â€˜Warlordsâ€™ Killed in Dagestan

Baku-APA. Law enforcement officers eliminated in separate raids alleged leaders of two insurgency groups in the North Caucasian republic of Dagestan on Wednesday, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee said, APA reports quoting Ria Novosti.

Magomed â€œAl-Baraâ€ Abdusalamov was blocked and shot dead near the village of Khuchni with no casualties among the law enforcements, the committeeâ€™s press service said.

Abdusalamov, the alleged head of the so-called â€œIzberbash gang,â€ was transporting in his car a powerful bomb made from a 100-liter barrel filled with explosives, which was defused by a bomb squad, the report said.

Elsewhere in the republic, police shot dead Nazhmudin â€œAbu-Zeitâ€ Nazhmudinov, the supposed leader of the â€œTsumada gang,â€ the report said.

A policeman was killed and two others wounded during the shootout, along with Nazhmudinovâ€™s female supporter Zarema Ramadanova, who also fired at the officers, the committee said.
