US market indices move up

Baku. Vahab Rzayev - APA-Economics. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 70.09 points, or 0.81 per cent, at 8761.42, although the index remains off 0.77 per cent for the month.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 10.57 points, or 1.19 per cent, to 899.24 and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 18.14 points, or 1.17 per cent, to 1565.48.
Exxon Mobil Corp. rose 2.4 percent and mining company Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. added 16 percent.
Democrats in Congress and the White House finalized an agreement on $14 billion in loans for Detroit’s struggling car companies. However, the plan negotiated by the White House is being opposed by a group of conservatives.
The proposal would provide relief for General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC. Ford Motor Co. Chief Executive Alan Mulally and Executive Chairman Bill Ford Jr. told The Associated Press Tuesday they don’t need to take the bailout.
In Europe, the London FTSE 100 index shed 0.32 per cent to close at 4367.28 while the CAC 40 rose 0.68 per cent to 3320.31 points. In Frankfurt the Dax added 0.54 per cent to close at 4804.88.
