“All sanctions against Iran, including the unilateral sanctions by the European Union and the United States, will be lifted on a step by step basis once a comprehensive agreement is signed between Tehran and the six powers and during the six-month agreement. Also all nuclear facilities at Natanz, Fordow, Isfahan, and Bandar Bushehr will continue their activities.I think the benefits of lifting the unjust sanctions will be for the whole regions and friends of Iran all over the world and will normalize Iran economic relations with them. So the Iranian government is seeking to create an atmosphere of trust between Iran and the countries interested in having friendly relations with Iran,” he said.
The Ambassador said that Iran had never intended to acquire nuclear weapons, noting that according to inspections by the IAEA, Iran’s nuclear activities have never been diverted to nuclear weapons: “So we are ready to cooperate with the agency in this regard in order to clear up all doubts and ambiguities. I think the most just decision which the 5+1 group can take is to lift the sanctions for two reasons: first, to respect the demands of the Iranian people who feel it’s not righteous and justifiable to be under the pressure of unfair and cruel sanctions that are violating their basic rights according to the Fourth Geneva Convention, and secondly because the lifting of the sanctions will be a great step on the path of striking a deal with Iran to close the nuclear dossier forever.”
