Baku-APA. At least three people were killed and many others wounded Friday when a mortar shell struck the Jaramana suburb of the Syrian capital Damascus, the pro-government Sama TV reported, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The mortar attack targeted al-Janaien Street, the report said, adding that many people were also injured.
The area was struck a day earlier by the blast of a booby- trapped car that killed 17 people and wounded more than 70 others, according to the state media and activists' Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Jaramana is a pro-government southeastern suburb dominated by Christian and Druze Syrians.
