Baku-APA. At least 17 people were killed and several others injured as a coach hit a truck in Pakistan's northwestern town of Karak on Tuesday evening, APA reports quoting local media.
Urdu TV channel ARY said that a passenger bus with over 30 people on board hit a truck coming from opposite direction at Indus Highway in Karak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Fire erupted in the bus following the head-on collision, killing 10 people on the spot.
Police and rescuers shifted the injured people to a nearby hospital where seven more succumbed to injuries.
The reason of the accident has not been determined yet.
In a separate incident, 12 people were killed and several others injured when a passenger van hit a truck in Nawabshah district in the country's southern Sindh province on Tuesday.
