More than 137,000 children are reportedly unable to attend school as a result of escalating clashes between the Houthis and government forces in Yemen, APA reports.
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has announced that the latest escalation has deprived more than 137,000 children of education.
UNICEF stressed that children should not lose their futures because of the clashes and said it is working to establish temporary classrooms for them.
The displacement of families continues due to tensions on Yemen's western coast. In cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund and the World Food Programme, emergency assistance, including basic necessities, has been provided to more than 14,000 newly displaced people.
Note that clashes in Yemen have intensified again since July, and the situation on the country's western coast has changed as a result of the Houthis seizing some areas controlled by government forces.
