Ukraine and Germany have signed 15 agreements and documents worth more than €8.5 billion in total, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said following his meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Kyiv, APA reports.
According to him, the agreements cover security cooperation, the defense industry, the procurement of weapons and equipment, as well as joint projects in Ukraine.
Zelenskyy noted that one of the main areas of cooperation is the development of capabilities to counter unmanned aerial vehicles, including interceptor drones, small missiles, radars, unmanned ground systems and artillery.
The Ukrainian President also said that work would continue to strengthen air defense and increase the production of missiles for Patriot systems in Germany.
Zelenskyy also specifically highlighted Germany’s participation in the FREYJA program together with other European countries and companies. The program envisages the creation of capabilities in Europe to defend against ballistic missiles.
In addition, the sides discussed support for Ukraine’s energy sector.
